He has previously undertaken a Masters in Exercise and Nutrition Science, and is also a certified Strength and Conditioning Coach. He is an experienced Gaelic footballer and coach and has represented his country at International Level Australian Rules Football. Dermot has worked extensively with athletes of all levels and abilities and has a special interest in the biomechanics of field sports. He also spent 7 years as an Army Officer where he gained extensive experience lecturing and instructing to a wide range of audiences. Dermot lectures extensively for TOG on the subject of Sports Biomechanics & Orthotic Therapy, as well as running his busy private Osteopathy Practice.

Han har erfaring både fra privat og kommunal fysioterapi. Han jobber i dag både som fysioterapeut, Personlig Trener og innen BHT med forebygging som hovedfelt. I tillegg til dette har Espen opplæring og support for TOG International. Espen har vært fysioterapeut for flere idrettslag og utøvere. Han er i dag tilknyttet IL Gular. IL Gular er i toppen av friidrett, spesielt innen løping i alle distanser og grener.
