MBTs - These Boot weren’t made for walkin

This is a recently published Irish independent article which quashes some of the myths associated with MBTs.

This article which was published recently in the Irish Independent newspaper details research findings from the School of Physiotherapy in the Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin.
These findings and the related article go along in explaining why so many healthcare practitioners (and in particular Podiatrists (foot specialists)) do not endorse MBT’s. Many podiatrists have argued that they are heavy and expensive and don’t work at all for narrow or shallow feet.

Research that MBT cites to validate their findings were done on samples of HEALTHY COLLEGE STUDENTS having little or no pathology (foot related illness). Not surprisingly, there have only been three studies, all sponsored by the company and none within the past several years.

MBTs are suitable for only a small minority of foot ailments and can lead to negative foot conditions if prescribed incorrectly.
